Ski Area

Bansko offers the best and most modern ski centre in Bulgaria. A multi-million euro investment in a brand new skiing area has been made since 2000. Bansko has the best snow record and the longest ski season in Bulgaria, from 15th Dec to 15th May.

Lift Tickets

Lift tickets can be obtained at the main ticket office at the Gondola base station. Daily and discounted multi-day passes can be purchased (Approx £80 for a 6 day Adult pass).  All ski lifts are accessed by a chip-card lift ticket.

Ski Lessons & Ski Hire

The ULEN Ski-school has some of Bulgaria's best instructors and the ULEN Rent-a-ski offers the latest in ski and snowboard equipment and also offers a ski storage facility right by the Gondola base station. Ski Hire & lessons are also available from several other Ski Shops close to the Gondola base station.

Children

There is a non-ski kindergarten for children (3 to 7 years). The resort also offers a Junior Ski Club (4 to 7 years) with 3 baby drags, a Wonder Carpets baby track, and a winter/summer rotunda type Kinder Carousel. There are a total of 10 baby drags in the resort making Bansko a great destination for families with young children.

Sunset Skiing

Bansko's unique floodlit night skiing facilities allows skiers and snowboarders to relax after a hard day on the runs in one of the dining establishments in the Banderitsa area and then, after sunset, ski down the 7 km lighted ski run to town in the company of experienced ski and snowboard teachers.

The Pistes

The total length of the marked ski area is over 70 kilometers. The pistes are located in two main areas- CHALIN VALOG (1100- 1600m) and SHILIGARNIKA (1700- 2500m). They are approximately 10 kilometers above the town on the northern slopes of Pirin Mountain. 44 modern snow cannons  ensure good snow cover, even late in the season. The slopes offer runs for all types of skiers. The 16 km Blue run down from the top of Pirin Mountain to the Base station is perfect for beginners and a great way to end the days skiing.  A large selection of red runs and the superb Tomba black run will keep most Intermediate and Advanced skiers busy. For the real experts there is also a good selection of extreme and off-piste skiing available.

Snowboard lovers can enjoy the unique Balkan Fun Park with jumps, bumps and a half pipe facility to test even the most dare-devil boarder.
